In this article, you will learn how to customize your payment policy for Workiz Pay.
Payment policies in Workiz Pay let you control the experience your clients will have when paying for estimate deposits online. You can choose to require payment upfront, collect a card on file, or give clients the flexibility to pay later — based on how your business operates.
Accessing your payment policy
- From the sidebar menu, select Workiz Pay
- Select My account
- Scroll down to Payment policy
- Adjust your settings
Require card on file for deposits
When enabled, your client will be required to save their card on file when paying an estimate deposit online. Requiring clients to save a card on file helps simplify future payments, reduce late invoices, and make it easier to charge for follow-up work once the job is complete.

Allow clients to pay deposit offline or after approving estimate
By default, all estimates that include a deposit will require your clients to make a payment as part of the approval process in the client portal.
Workiz also gives you the option to let clients approve the estimate first and pay the deposit later. This is helpful for customers who are ready to move forward but not prepared to pay upfront. They can complete the deposit afterward, either offline or by revisiting the estimate in the client portal.
