Campaign setup & audience

  • In Genius Marketing, a workflow is a multi-step campaign that can include multiple emails, texts, conditional branching, and specific delays. They are ideal when you want to automate a series of messages over time.

  • Workflows are ideal for campaigns that need multiple touchpoints over time. But sometimes you only need a single message. One-off campaigns are great for quick, targeted blasts — like reminders, holiday greetings, announcements, or limited-time offers.

  • Yes. You can preview your audience directly from the campaign builder. As you adjust your audience filters, the number of clients included in the campaign will update automatically, and you can view the exact clients who will be targeted.
  • Clients cannot be removed individually from a campaign audience. Instead, you can adjust your audience filters so the client no longer meets the campaign criteria. A common approach is to apply a tag to that client and add a filter that excludes that tag from your campaign audience.
  • No. Once a campaign is created, the audience is locked in place. New clients who meet the campaign criteria will not automatically enter the campaign.

    If you want to include new clients in a campaign you've already created, you can duplicate the campaign and add a filter to include only clients created after a certain date.

  • Genius Marketing makes it easy to see the real impact of your campaigns. Track jobs created, revenue generated, and view a detailed breakdown of the jobs and clients behind the numbers.

  • Genius Marketing and Workiz Automations both help you send personalized messages to your clients, but they serve different purposes.

    Genius Marketing is designed for targeted campaigns and outreach, while Automations trigger messages automatically based on specific actions or events in your workflow.

    For example:

    • Genius Marketing: Best for marketing campaigns such as promotions, announcements, or seasonal reminders.
    • Automations: Designed for operational messages triggered by events like new jobs, status changes, or scheduled appointments.
  • Yes. Workflow campaigns can be paused after they’re set live, preventing any future messages from being sent. One-time campaigns, however, are sent immediately and cannot be paused.
  • There is no limit for sending emails with Genius Marketing, but you may be limited by the amount of available texts in your plan when sending text campaigns. Text campaigns can be further supported using on-demand.

Phone, SMS & compliance

  • You don’t need a Workiz Phone plan to send emails or texts, but having one is the most cost-effective way to use SMS with Genius Marketing. Without a phone plan, you must enable on-demand messaging, which charges higher per-message rates than a dedicated plan.
  • Yes, you will need to be registered for text messages through A2P 10DLC to send texts with Genius Marketing. Without registering, you will not be able to create campaigns or send texts to your clients.

  • You will not be allowed to create a text message campaign until you have successfully registered for text messages via A2P 10DLC.

  • Before setting your campaign live, Genius Marketing will calculate how many texts are required to complete your campaign. If you do not have enough texts available in your plan, you will be prompted to set up on-demand charges or upgrade your phone plan.

  • Because text campaigns are sent as SMS, images cannot be included. To send images with Genius Marketing, you’ll need to create a campaign that includes an email.
  • No. Two-factor authentication is required before setting campaigns live in Genius Marketing. This safeguard helps protect your business from sending unauthorized mass messages to clients.

  • No. Genius Marketing can send outbound emails and text messages, but it cannot be used to initiate outbound calls using Genius Answering (Jessica).

Content, templates & AI

  • Genius Marketing offers a variety of industry-specific templates that you can access in just a few clicks. While you cannot create templates of your own, you can save your preferred template as a draft and duplicate it as needed.
  • Yes. Genius Marketing includes ready-to-send templates designed specifically for your industry. Each template comes with an image, written content, and a call-to-action button aligned with your campaign goal. You can easily customize everything — swap the image, edit the text, or update the button.
