In this article, you will learn how to monitor the time your team is spending on jobs and shifts.
Workiz offers three different methods for logging time:
- Clocking in for a job from the mobile app
- Clocking in for the day on the web and mobile app
- Manually adding time on the web app
To learn more about how to log time using the methods listed above, please see this article.
Workiz also provides a Timesheets report you can use to track the time your team members are logging.
For best results, there must be at least a one-minute separation between clocking in and clocking out.
How to track employee time
- From the sidebar menu, select Reports
- Select Timesheets
This report will be organized by team member and displays the following details:
- Clock status: Indicates whether the team member is currently clocked in or clocked out.
- Total hours logged: The total number of hours worked during the selected period.
-
Cost: The labor cost associated with these hours.
Cost will only be generated if you have set an hourly rate for this team member. To learn more about setting labor costs for team members, please see this article.
- Jobs: The number of jobs completed during the logged hours.
You can select a team member's name to see a detailed breakdown of their timesheets, including the specific jobs related to these logs when applicable.
If a user clocked in from the Workiz mobile app and has location tracking enabled, you will also see a pin icon. Selecting the icon will display the team member's location when clocking in.
Not seeing the pin icons in your report? Try expanding the size of the "Clock in" or "Clock out" columns.
This report also allows you to:
- Edit existing entries to adjust the date, hours, or add notes
- Filter by specific members of your team, jobs, or specific date ranges
- Export data to run payroll on your preferred software
Modifying the Timesheets report
The Timesheets report can only be modified to display relevant timesheets:
- From specific team members
- With or without jobs
- From specific time periods
