In this article, you will learn how to collect online payments using Workiz Pay on the mobile app.

Workiz Pay is a fast, simple, and secure online payments solution that enables you to collect payments from your customers while on the job. Workiz Pay also makes sure you get paid on time β€” and even ahead of time β€” by allowing you to request payments on your estimates and invoices. To learn more about Workiz Pay, please click here.

With the Workiz mobile app, you can collect payments while on a job site or by sending a payment request that your clients can pay at a later date.

Collecting payments

  1. Open the job, estimate, or invoice you want to collect payment for

  2. Follow the step that corresponds with what you opened in Step 1

    1. Job: Select Pay

    2. Estimate or invoice: Next to Payments, select the + icon

  3. Choose how you want to collect payment

    1. Use card reader

    2. Type card manually

    3. Other: Pay with a card on file or offline payments such as cash, check, and credit offline

  4. Follow the steps on the app to complete the payment collection process

The remaining steps will vary depending on the method you chose for collecting payment (e.g., card reader, entering details manually, etc.).

Using a card reader

When using a card reader, you will be prompted to pass the device to your client to approve and complete the transaction. From there, your client will have the option to add a tip and approve the payment before being walked through the card reader process.

Once completed, your client will have the option to email themselves a receipt at the end of the transaction.

Entering card info manually or choosing a card on file

Whether you choose to enter the card details manually or select a card you have saved on file, your client will be required to provide a signature before completing the transaction. The signature request will appear alongside the tipping screen, seamlessly providing your clients with the option to tip you for your services.

Once completed, you will have the option to email your client a receipt at the end of the transaction.

Sending payment requests

While you can collect payments right from the Workiz mobile app, you can also use the app to send clients payment requests that they can pay on their own time.

  1. Open the estimate or invoice you want to send

  2. Follow the step that corresponds with the document you want to send

    1. Estimate: Select Send to client

    2. Invoice: Select the kebab menu (three dots) icon > Send invoice

  3. Make sure the box for Let client pay with a credit card is checked and select Send

Your client will receive a notification with a link to the client portal, where they can view and pay their estimate or invoice balance.
