How to collect payments with card readers
In order to charge your clients with card readers, you will need to pair your card readers to the Workiz mobile app. To learn more about the setup process, please see this article.
Power the card reader on
Tip: If not in use, the card reader will automatically shut off after five minutes. This is a default setting for the device to preserve battery life. You will likely need to power the device on before every transaction.
From the Workiz mobile app, open the job you want to add a payment to
Select Pay > Charge
Select Use card reader
Allow the Workiz app to connect to the card reader
IMPORTANT: Do NOT kill the app during this process.
Process the payment using one of the methods provided:
US: Swipe, insert, or tap
Tip: If tapping or swiping, the card reader will beep once to indicate the payment was successful.
If inserting, the card reader will beep twice to indicate that you may remove the card.
Canada: Insert or tap
Tip: The built-in display on Canadian card readers will provide visual statuses for the transaction (e.g., processing, remove card, approved, etc.).
Select Done
Adding a payment to an estimate or invoice
Power the card reader on

From the Workiz mobile app, open the estimate or invoice you want to add a payment to
Next to Payments, select the + icon > Charge
Select Use card reader
