In this article, you will learn how to update an existing custom field for clients and jobs using the Workiz mobile app.

Workiz was designed to fit the needs of most service businesses, but you may find that your organization needs a bit more customization when it comes to creating jobs and adding clients. You can accomplish this by creating custom fields so that you can add all the extra information you’ll ever need for a job or client.

Custom fields can only be created using the web application, but you can update those existing custom fields on the go using the Workiz mobile app. To learn more about creating custom fields using the web app, please see this article.


Tip: In order to use custom fields in Workiz, you will first need to enable the add-on from the Workiz Marketplace. To learn more about enabling the add-on, please see this article.


Updating a job custom field from the mobile app

  1. From the mobile app, select a job on your schedule

  2. From the job page, select Job Details

  3. Under the default fields, update the custom fields as desired

Updating a client custom field from the mobile app

  1. From the mobile app, select the Clients tab

  2. Select a client

  3. From the client’s profile page, select the client’s name

  4. Under the default fields, update the custom fields as desired
