In this article, you will learn how to customize your job and client pages with custom fields.

Workiz was designed to fit the needs of most service businesses, but you may find that your organization needs a bit more customization when it comes to creating jobs and adding clients. You can accomplish this by creating custom fields so that you can add all the extra information you’ll ever need for a job or client.

Enabling the custom fields add-on

In order to use custom fields, you must first enable the add-on from the Workiz Marketplace.

  1. From the navigation bar, select the Marketplace

  2. Under Most Popular, find Custom Fields and select Learn more

  3. Turn the toggle switch above Feature not active ON (green)

Creating custom fields

  1. From the navigation bar, select Settings > Settings

  2. Under Job Settings, select Custom Fields

In Workiz, you will be able to create custom fields for jobs and clients.

Creating a job custom field

  1. With the Job tab selected, select Add New

  2. Complete the Add New Field fields:

    1. Group: Choose a group that this custom field should exist under (e.g., vehicle information, before/after photos, etc.)


      Tip: You can also create a new group by choosing Add new.


    2. Field type: Choose the type of information that should be entered into this custom field (e.g., text, numbers, date, images, etc.)

    3. Field name: Enter a name for this custom field

    4. All job types: Choose the job types that should include this custom field


      Tip: You can choose multiple job types.


    5. Required: Determine whether this custom field should be required to create a new job and turn the toggle switch to YES or NO accordingly

    6. Required to close: Determine whether this custom field should be required in order to close the job and turn the toggle switch to YES or NO accordingly

    7. Select Save

Creating a client custom field

  1. From the Custom Fields page, select the Client tab

  2. Select Add New

  3. Complete the Add New Field fields:

    1. Group: Choose a group that this custom field should exist under


      Tip: You can also create a new group by choosing Add new.


    2. Field type: Choose the type of information that should be entered into this custom field (e.g., text, numbers, date, images, etc.)

    3. Field name: Enter a name for this custom field

    4. Select Save

Updating custom fields on the Workiz mobile app
