In this article, you will learn how to upgrade to the new Workiz Pay.
The new Workiz Pay is supported by Adyen, a global financial technology platform trusted by companies like Microsoft, Uber, and eBay. Adyen provides the modern infrastructure behind Workiz Pay, helping ensure reliable, secure, and scalable payment processing.
This change helps Workiz Pay do more for your business, including:
- Process secure ACH payments in just 2 business days (up from 6-8 business days)
- Future support for business loans
New Workiz Pay requirements
The new Workiz Pay is currently only available to businesses based in the US. Support for Canadian businesses will be made available in the future.
Signing up for the new Workiz Pay
Due to security and privacy protocols, we’re unable to automatically migrate existing Workiz Pay users to the new version. To access the upgraded Workiz Pay, current users will need to manually submit a new application.
- From the sidebar menu, select Workiz Pay
- On the right side of the page, select Get started
- Ensure you have an official tax document nearby and select Continue
Business type
The first step in signing up requires you to choose your business type.

Business type Explained Common for Sole proprietorship A business owned and operated by one person. There’s no legal separation between the owner and the business. Solo handymen, owner-operator cleaners, independent electricians, single-truck contractors or new field service businesses just getting started. Limited liability company (LLC) A business structure that helps separate personal and business liability while offering flexible taxes and management. Growing HVAC, plumbing, junk removal, landscaping, cleaning or electrical companies with employees, subcontractors or multiple vehicles. Corporation (Ltd./Inc./Corp) A formal business entity that is legally separate from its owners and typically has more structured ownership, payroll and compliance requirements. Larger field service companies, franchises, multi-location operations or businesses with investors and leadership teams. Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) A partnership where multiple business owners share management responsibilities while receiving some liability protection. Service businesses owned by multiple licensed professionals or long-term operating partners. Limited Partnership (LP) A business structure with:
- General partners who run the business
- And limited partners who primarily invest financially
Field service businesses with outside investors or family-backed ownership structures. General Partnership (GP) A business owned and operated by two or more people who share responsibility for managing the company. Small contractor teams, family-owned service businesses or friends starting a service company together before formally incorporating.
Business representative info
Next, you'll need to enter information about yourself as the business owner/representative. You'll provide details such as your name, job title, and address. Please ensure these details match the information listed on official tax documents like your SS-4.
This information is required to verify the identity of the business owner or authorized representative and help securely enable payment and banking features. All information is encrypted and securely processed.
- Enter your owner information (e.g., first and last name, date of birth, last four SSN, etc.)
- First and last name
- Date of birth
- Last 4 digits of SSN
- Email address
- Business phone number
- Describe your role at the company
- Check the box if you own 25% or more of the company
- Check the box if you are a business executive at the company (e.g., CEO, COO, etc.)
- Enter your home address details
- Select Continue
Business details
After providing owner details, you'll need to enter information related to your business. As before, you will need to make sure the details provided match the information listed on official tax documents like your SS-4. Mismatching details — such as using the wrong business name — will result in a rejected application.

Additional decision makers
Here, you'll need to provide information relating to any other owners or executives at your business.
- If needed, select Add additional decision maker and provide their details
- Choose your most common client type (e.g., residential, commercial, etc.)
- Enter the year your business was founded
- Select Continue
Connecting your business bank account
After, you'll need to connect your business checking account. This is where payments collected through Workiz Pay will be sent.
You’ll have the option to connect your account instantly using Plaid or manually by entering your bank account details. Plaid allows you to securely sign in to your bank, while manual entry requires your routing and account numbers.
- Select Connect bank securely or Enter bank details manually
- Complete the required steps to connect your bank
- Upload the required document to verify your bank account
- Select Done
Expected approval timeline
It may take up to a few business days for your Workiz Pay application to be processed. Existing accounts already signed up for Workiz Pay will still be able to process payments while the application is under review.
Workiz will send you an email once your application has been processed. If approved, you’ll then be ready to start collecting online payments.
If approved, you will be given access to the Workiz Pay dashboard, where you can view your online payments, payouts, and disputes, as well as make changes to your statement descriptor. You can access this dashboard from the sidebar menu.
