Monitoring technician conversations with Job Recordings

In this article, you will learn how to use Job Recordings to monitor your techs while out in the field. 

Job Recordings give you visibility into what’s happening in the field by capturing real job activity. This allows you to review performance, ensure processes are being followed, and identify opportunities to better support and coach your team.

With Job Recordings, you get access to a full breakdown of each interaction, including:

  • Recording: Listen to the full job interaction
  • Talk ratio: See how much each person spoke
  • Summary: A short overview of the conversation
  • Highlights: Key moments like pricing, objections, and next steps
  • Transcript: A complete, searchable record of the conversation

Creating job recordings

  1. From the mobile app, open a job
  2. At the bottom of the screen, select the record icon

  3. Select Start recording

    Make sure your client is OK with being recorded beforehand.

  4. When done, select the Stop icon to end the recording

Workiz will continue recording until it is manually stopped. Your techs can leave (but not close) the app and lock their device without stopping the recording. 

Recordings will automatically be saved and visible in both the web and mobile app. Fully closing the app will stop and save the recording, but not automatically upload it for viewing on the web app. 

Reviewing job recordings

After a recording is saved, it will automatically become available to view in the web app. 

  1. From the sidebar menu in the web app, select Job Recordings
  2. Select a recording to view more details (e.g., recording, summary, highlights, etc.)

Deleting job recordings

Job recordings can only be deleted from the web app by team members with the proper permissions. Technicians will be able to use the mobile app to view recordings, but not delete them.

  1. Next to the recording you want to delete, select the trash bin icon
  2. Select Yes, delete to confirm

Recordings will be permanently deleted.
