In this article, you will learn how to set up on-demand for Genius Answering.
Genius Answering is an AI-powered answering service capable of picking up incoming calls, speaking with your customers about the services they need, and even adding jobs to your schedule. Genius Answering is a powerful AI tool built right into Workiz, eliminating the need for manual training.
Each Genius Answering plan comes with a set number of AI conversations that you can use each month. If you run out of conversations during your billing cycle, you'll have the option of setting up on-demand to be charged per conversation.
For the most cost-effective way of using Genius Answering, consider upgrading your plan to the next tier. To review your options, please click here.
If you choose not to enable on-demand or upgrade your plan, calls that would normally route to your AI agent will skip that step in your call flow and move to the next step. In most cases this will be voicemail, but it can also be configured to forward the call to a member of your team.
Enabling on-demand for Genius Answering
In order to enable on-demand for Genius Answering, you will first need to enable it for general phone usage (i.e., texts and minutes). This ensures that your AI agent always has what it needs to handle new conversations, whether by text or phone call.
Each AI conversation counts towards your usage of conversations and minutes/texts. For example, a 5-minute phone call handled by AI will count as 1 conversation and 5 minutes used.
- From the top navigation bar, select your profile icon > Billing
- Select Phone plan
- Scroll down to the on-demand section
- Ensure that general on-demand usage for minutes and texts is enabled
- Turn the toggle switch on for Genius Answering
- Adjust your charges as desired (e.g., when my balances falls below $X, charge me another $Y)
- Select Save
