Avoiding scheduling conflicts when assigning jobs

In this article, you will learn how to avoid unwanted scheduling conflicts when assigning jobs and leads to your technicians.

Scheduling conflicts can occur when a technician is already assigned to another job at the same time. Conflicts also appear if the technician is assigned to an event or time off in the Workiz schedule. Workiz helps you identify these conflicts during scheduling so you can quickly decide whether to assign a different team member or proceed with the assignment.

When creating a new job or lead, one of the final default steps requires you to assign a team member. Workiz will automatically display team members who are qualified to perform the job based on their assigned skills (job types) and service areas. This list may also include technicians who currently have scheduling conflicts.

Technicians with scheduling conflicts will have a conflict indicator displayed next to their name.

A scheduling conflict will not prevent you from assigning that technician to the job. This allows you to maintain full flexibility and make scheduling decisions that best fit your business needs.
