In this article, you will learn how to adjust the slot duration for your Online Booking portal and Genius Answering.
Online Booking lets clients view and book your availability on their own time. You have full control over your availability settings, including business hours, availability preference, advance notice, and how long each appointment lasts.
Your booking slot duration can be set to a static time (e.g., 1 hour, 2 hours, etc.) or be synced to the settings you have for your individual job types.
- Default duration: All booking slots will be listed with the same duration no matter the type of service requested.
- Slots by job type: Booking slots will be dynamic to match the settings you have for your job type settings.
How to change your booking slot duration settings

From the sidebar menu, select Online Booking
Don't have this feature pinned to your sidebar menu?
Pin new tools from the Feature Center or access through the general settings menu.
- Under Availability, set your booking slot duration:
- Default duration: Under Booking slot duration, select the dropdown menu and choose the default duration (e.g., 1 hour, 2 hours, etc.)

Slots by job type: Next to Use slots by job type, turn the toggle switch on

How your booking slot duration affects Genius Answering
The slot duration set in your Online Booking settings also applies to Genius Answering. This shared setting controls how appointment times are offered across both features.
If your Genius Answering preferences are set to use an arrival window, that window may be based on the duration configured in your job type settings.
