In this article, you will learn how to remove the PDF attachment when sending estimates.
By default, all of the estimates you send via email in Workiz will include:
- A link to view the estimate in the client portal
- A PDF attachment of the estimate document itself
If you want to encourage your customers to view their estimate directly in the client portal — where they can easily review, approve, decline, and even pay a deposit — you can choose to remove the PDF attachment from the email.
Removing PDF attachments for all estimates
To remove the PDF attachment from all estimates, disable this setting in your Estimate settings.
- From the top navigation bar, select your profile icon > Settings
- Under General settings, select Estimates
- Disable the toggle for Attach PDF files
When disabled, all estimates you send via email moving forward will not include the PDF attachment.
Removing PDF attachments from specific estimates
To include or remove the PDF attachment for a specific estimate, you can adjust this setting before sending.
- Open the estimate you want to send
- Select Send
- Uncheck the box for Include PDF attachment
- Select Send email
What your clients will see
Your customer will receive an email with a link to view the estimate in the client portal. The PDF attachment will be excluded, encouraging them to open the link to review, approve, decline, or make a deposit directly in the portal — all of which are tracked in Workiz for better visibility.
