How to create a new warranty in Workiz

Creating warranties in Workiz requires a handful of steps:

  1. Creating reusable warranty and equipment items in your Workiz price book
  2. Adding warranty and equipment items to jobs in Workiz
  3. Waiting for JB360 to automatically scan for eligible jobs in Workiz

Creating new warranties from jobs

After adding reusable warranty and equipment to your price book, you can start adding them to jobs in Workiz to trigger the creation of new warranties in JB360. JB360 will automatically perform a scan every 15 minutes to identify new jobs that meet the following criteria for a sold warranty:

  • Job must include a warranty and equipment item
  • Job must be marked done

In order to properly sync with JB360, warranties must be sold on jobs or job-connected invoices. Warranties sold on standalone invoices will not generate a new warranty agreement in JB360.

If it finds a match, a new warranty will automatically be created in JB360. The warranty will be linked to both the client and the property address associated with the job.

To create a warranty in Workiz:

  1. Create a new job in Workiz

Managing warranties in JB360

Once the job is marked as “done,” it will be available in JB360 shortly after. From there, you can handle all warranty-related tasks within JB360. For further assistance with managing warranties, please reach out to the JB Warranties team.

Identifying sold warranties in Workiz

When you create a new job, Workiz will automatically scan for existing warranties. If a warranty is found that matches both the client and service address, the job will display a badge indicating that warranty coverage may be available for equipment tied to this client.
