Payments through Apple Pay or Google Pay are made possible through Workiz Pay, our integrated solution for collecting online payments. Workiz Pay is a fast, simple, and secure online payment solution that enables you to collect credit card payments from your customers while on the job.
How to collect payments with Apple Pay or Google Pay
After signing up for Workiz Pay, your clients will automatically see the option to pay for an estimate or invoice with Apple Pay or Google Pay when:
- You've enabled card payments for the estimate or invoice
- Your client has Apple Pay or Google Pay set up on their mobile device or web browser
If you disabled the option to let clients pay with a credit/debit card for a particular estimate or invoice, they will not see the option to pay via Apple Pay or Google Pay.
There is no additional charge to collecting payments via Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Your client will need to set up Apple Pay or Google Pay on their mobile device or web browser in order to see the option to pay with either. If they are not set up with either payment option, they will not see the option in the client portal.
After selecting Apple Pay or Google Pay as their payment method in the client portal, they’ll be walked through the checkout process from Apple or Google.
Payments via Apple Pay or Google Pay are only available when customers are making a payment through the client portal.
Not seeing the option for Apple Pay or Google Pay?
Please be aware that payment options — including via Apple Pay or Google Pay — are not present when viewing the client portal in preview mode. Preview mode is automatically enabled when you open a link to the client portal while also logged into Workiz within the same web browser.

Yes, collecting payments with Apple Pay or Google Pay are treated the same as collecting with a card in the client portal. It will be considered a “card not present” transaction.

Yes, you will be notified like you normally would when clients make a card payment from the client portal.

Payments collected via Apple Pay or Google Pay will appear as card-not-present credit charges.

If your client isn’t seeing the option to pay via Apple Pay or Google Pay, it’s likely due to one of the following reasons:
- You aren’t set up with Workiz Pay
- You disabled credit card payments when sending the estimate or invoice
- Your client isn’t set up with Apple Pay or Google Pay on the device they are paying from

Yes, it is possible to collect payment via Apple Pay or Google Pay on the mobile app. To collect payment directly on the mobile app, you will need to be set up with one of the following:
- Tap to Pay on iPhone or Android (on the device collecting payment)
- A Workiz card reader
When you are ready to collect payment, please ask your client to access the digital wallet on their mobile device (Apple Wallet, Google Wallet). From there, they can select a card they previously stored in the wallet to pay via Apple Pay or Google Pay.
You also have the option of sending your client a link to the client portal from the mobile app. Your client will be able to access the client portal and pay via Apple Pay or Google Pay on their own device.
