In this article, you will learn how to optimize your calendar with Genius Scheduling. 

Genius Scheduling is part of the Workiz Genius suite, an AI-powered toolkit that helps you schedule jobs more efficiently. Just enter the address of a new job, and Workiz will suggest the best time slots based on how close the new job is to other jobs and leads already on your calendar.

This is a great way of simplifying the workload for managers and dispatchers across your team. Genius Scheduling reduces the need for manual planning, helping you avoid scheduling conflicts and minimizing travel time between jobs. 

Activating Genius Scheduling

1. From the navigation bar, select the Feature Center

   Not seeing the Feature Center icon in the navigation bar? You may not have the correct permissions set for your user.

   Please contact your account admin and ask them to turn on the Account Settings permission for your user type from the Roles & Permissions settings page.

2. Select Genius Scheduling
3. Turn the toggle switch on/off to enable/disable the add-on

Booking new jobs with Genius Scheduling

1. From the sidebar menu, select Create > Job
2. Enter the client details (e.g., client name, contact info, etc.)
3. Enter the job details (e.g., job type, job source, description)
4. In the Service location field, enter the client's address
5. Select X scheduling suggestions
   
   

   The "scheduling suggestions" button will only appear when Genius Scheduling can identify nearby jobs that may be good candidates for scheduling together. It checks for:

   • Upcoming jobs/leads located near the job's address
   • Techs who can perform this job based on their skills and availability

   If the button does not appear, this means Genius Scheduling could not find nearby jobs/leads that met these conditions.

6. On the right, adjust the distance range to change how far Genius Scheduling should look for nearby jobs
   
7. On the right, Genius Scheduling will display a list of suggested techs and available time slots within the distance defined in Step 6. Select the option that works best for the job.
   
8. Select Assign

Your new job will be booked and added to your schedule. Creating all your jobs with the help of Genius Scheduling will maximize efficiency and help you make the most of your team's time. By reducing travel and avoiding scheduling gaps, you'll keep operations running smoothly and ensure more timely service for your clients.
