Keeping track of your top sellers using the 'sold by' field

  • Updated

In this article, you will learn how to use the "sold by" field in Workiz to easily keep track of items sold across your team.

When adding line items to estimates, invoices, or directly to jobs, Workiz automatically includes a "sold by" field to help you identify your top sellers. You can easily manage this field across all your existing items.

Editing the 'sold by' field

Items added to a job, estimate, or invoice will be linked to the user who added them by default, streamlining the process for your techs without requiring extra steps. Occasionally you'll want to make adjustments to the "sold by" field on existing items.

  1. Open the job you want to edit
  2. Select the Items tab
  3. Select the item you want to edit
  4. Select Sold by and edit the user

  5. Select Save

When editing the "sold by" field for flat rate items, the entire item group will be linked to one user.

Viewing 'sold by' in your reporting

Over time, Workiz will generate reports that provide easy access to information about items sold by your team members.

  1. From the sidebar menu, select Reports
  2. Select Items and services

This report will be broken down by item. You can select one of the items to see the specific jobs where it was used. For each instance, Workiz will show you which technician sold the item, giving you key insight into sales performance.

You can also filter this report to only display items that were sold by a specific member of your team

Creating commission rules around 'sold by' items

Workiz allows you to take the "sold by" field even further with Performance Pay, offering even more opportunities to track and reward performance.

Performance Pay is Workiz’s easy-to-use solution for incentivizing and rewarding your team based on their performance metrics. With Performance Pay, you can create custom commission rules that specify how your team is rewarded for their achievements. You can set up rewards for upselling line items on a job, completing a job, and even creating a job.

By creating commission rules around the "sold by" field, Workiz can automatically calculate the correct commission for all items that were added by a specific team member. This is a great way of incentivizing your technicians to upsell on the job.
