In this article, you will learn about how to manage your team's commissions with Performance Pay.
Performance Pay is Workiz’s easy-to-use solution for incentivizing and rewarding your team based on their performance metrics. With Performance Pay, you can create custom commission rules that specify how your team is rewarded for their achievements. You can set up rewards for upselling line items on a job, completing a job, and even creating a job.
In order to create commission rules in Workiz, you will first need to enable the Performance Pay add-on from the Feature Center.
Creating upsell-based commission rules
- From the navigation bar, select the profile icon > Settings
- Under Job settings, select Performance Pay
- Select New commission rule
- Create your commission rule:
- Rule name: Enter a name for your commission rule
- Trigger event: Choose Sold by
-
Conditions: Set any specific conditions that to limit when this commission rule should be triggered (e.g., only if item category is smart thermostats, contactors, etc.)
To learn more about how commission rule conditions work, please see this article.
- Commission rate: Set the commission rate that you want to use for this rule (e.g., $10 of item profit, 20% of item total, etc.)
- (Optional) Select View example to see a detailed breakdown of how this rule would work
- Select Create
- Assign users to your commission rule
- Select Assign users for your rule
- Select all of the users you want to assign to this rule and select Save
- Select Assign users for your rule
Assigning specific line items to team members
All line items that you add to estimates, invoices, and jobs include a "Sold by" field that allows Workiz to identify the team member responsible for selling the item. By default, the "Sold by" field will be set to the user who added the item. This field can be manually edited when adding the item and after adding the item.
When adding flat rate items to an estimate, invoice, or job, all items within that flat rate item must be sold by the same person. The commission payout calculation will show the flat rate item broken down into the individual items within the group.
