In this article, you will learn about the documents that you need to submit to verify your identity and business to collect online payments using Workiz Pay.

Workiz Pay is a fast, simple, and secure online payment solution that enables you to collect credit card payments from your customers while on the job. Workiz Pay also makes sure you get paid on time — and even ahead of time — by allowing you to request payments on your estimates and invoices.

We use Stripe technology to support Workiz Pay. Stripe is a reputable software company that gives businesses the tools to create online payment platforms. 

Required documents

To ensure the security and integrity of Workiz Pay merchants and customers, financial regulators across the US and Canada require certain documents for proper verification. These policies are designed to:

  • Prevent fraud
  • Enhance security
  • Ensure compliance

Document guidelines

When submitting your verification documents, please ensure the following requirements are met:

  • Each file does not exceed 10MB
  • Identity documents are in JPG or PNG format
  • Address or legal entity documents are in JPG, PNG, or PDF format
  • Legal entity documents include all pages
  • Files are not password protected

US accounts

The following table details the different documents that may satisfy verification requirements for your Workiz Pay application. Generally, you will only need to provide one document per requirement. For example, to satisfy the business verification requirement, you will only need a 147C Letter or a Form SS-4, but not both.

Bank account ownership verification

  • State-issued ID card
  • Resident permit ID (Green Card)

Canadian accounts

The following table details the different documents that may satisfy verification requirements for your Workiz Pay application. Generally, you will only need to provide one document per requirement. For example, to satisfy the identification verification requirement, you will only need a permanent resident card or a driver's license, but not both.

Company verification document

If company (any type):

  • Original certificate of incorporation
  • Corporate profile report
  • Certificate of active corporate status
  • Published annual report signed by an audit firm (dated within the last 12 months)
  • Letter of notice of assessment from a municipal, provincial, territorial, or federal government

If partnership:

  • Partnership agreement
  • Partnership registration
  • Articles of association
  • Business license 
The document must show your business name and business address exactly as it was entered for your Workiz Pay application.
