Automatically syncing your Workiz clients list with Mailchimp

In this article, you will learn how to sync your Workiz clients list with Mailchimp so you can easily send email campaigns to your existing list of customers. 

Mailchimp is a third-party platform designed to optimize your email marketing strategies. By integrating with Workiz, you can now streamline your efforts to connect with your clients in a more meaningful way.

Enabling the Mailchimp integration

  1. From the navigation bar, select the Feature Center/Marketplace

    Not seeing the Feature Center/Marketplace icon in the navigation bar? You may not have the correct permissions set for your user.

    Please contact your account admin and ask them to turn on the Account Settings permission for your user type from the Roles & Permissions settings page.

  2. Under Integrations, select Mailchimp

  3. Turn the toggle switch on/off to enable/disable the add-on

Generating your Mailchimp API key

In order to connect Workiz and Mailchimp, you will need to access your Mailchimp API key.

  1. Log in to your Mailchimp account
  2. Select your profile icon in the upper-right corner
  3. Select Account & billing > Extras > API keys
  4. If necessary, select Create a key and copy your key

  1. From the navigation bar, select the profile/gear icon > Settings
  2. Under Integrations, select Mailchimp

  3. Enter your API credentials and select Connect

Syncing your Workiz clients list with Mailchimp

After connecting Workiz and Mailchimp using the API key, you will have the option of syncing your clients list:

  • Automatically any time you create a new client in Workiz
  • Manually as a one-time export

Whether you prefer automatic or manual syncing, the first sync must be done manually. Automatic syncing only applies to new clients created after connecting the two apps.

Client information will only be synced with Mailchimp if you have an email address stored for your client. Clients without an email address will not appear in Mailchimp.

  1. Under One-time export, select Export all clients

  2. Choose the audience list you want to sync with and select Export

It may take a few minutes for your clients to appear in Mailchimp.

After syncing your initial list of customers, you can automatically sync any new clients moving forward.
