Customizing your 'on my way' and 'running late' message templates

  • Updated

In this article, you will learn how to update the job-related template messages you can send to clients and team members using Workiz.

Workiz provides you with templates for three different types of messages you can send depending on the scenario:

  • Job: The default message an admin can send to field techs to provide them with job details.
  • On the way: The default text message a field tech can send to notify your clients that they are on the way.
  • Late: The default text message a field tech can send to notify your clients that they are running late.

Each message comes with default text to suit the needs of most field service businesses. If you want to update the text, customizing the message can be done in just a few steps.

How to customize your text templates

  1. From the navigation bar, select the profile icon > Settings
  2. Under Calls & Texts, select Text messages
  3. Update your templates (e.g., job, on the way, or late)

The text editing field for your messages will contain a combination of standard text and short code. In Workiz, short code is surrounded by curly brackets (e.g., #{{example_text}}), and is used to ensure your messages are generated intelligently by pulling the details from the relevant job on your account.

Short code is only designed to be a placeholder for the text editor. The messages you send will include the relevant information without any curly brackets.

For example:

To insert short code into your message, select one of the gray short code tags underneath the text editing field.
