Mapping where invoice income is recorded in QuickBooks Online

  • Updated

In this article, you will learn how to create custom mapping for Workiz items in QuickBooks Online.

When syncing items from Workiz to QuickBooks, those items will be synced as a service type or non-inventory type. Since each business using QuickBooks Online may have a unique name for its chart of accounts, both types of Workiz items will automatically be mapped to an income account of services.

The income accounts for your items will directly impact how your income from Workiz invoices is synced and recorded in QuickBooks Online. Making changes to how these items are mapped can be done in just a few steps, allowing you to configure things to meet your business’s needs.

  5. Repeat Steps 2–4 for all of your remaining items

After mapping the income accounts for your items in QuickBooks, you will be able to include those items in your Workiz invoices. When those invoices are synced to QuickBooks, any related income will be recorded in the income account that you chose.

Making any changes to the item in Workiz will cause the item to sync again. This will overwrite your custom mapping and restore the default mapping of the income account in QuickBooks Online.

If you make any changes to an item in Workiz, be sure to reconfigure the mapping in QuickBooks.
