In this article, you will learn how to turn on Tap to Pay on iPhone to use with Workiz Pay.
Tap to Pay on iPhone allows you to accept contactless payments using just your iPhone without the need for external hardware. You can use your iPhone to accept contactless payments via credit card or digital wallets right on the Workiz mobile app.
Tap to Pay on iPhone requirements
In order to use Tap to Pay on iPhone, you must:
Be signed up with Workiz Pay
Be based in the US
Have an Apple ID
Have an iPhone XS or later running iOS 16.0 or later
Note: Tap to Pay on iPhone will not work on iPads or any other Apple devices.
Tap to Pay on iPhone will not work on beta releases of iOS.
Turning on Tap to Pay on iPhone
Note: Tap to Pay on iPhone can only be turned on by an account admin with an iPhone and Apple ID.
Once turned on, it will only be available to team members who are using an iPhone and can otherwise collect payments using Workiz Pay.
From the mobile app, select the hamburger menu (three lines) icon > Settings
Next to Tap to Pay on iPhone, turn the toggle switch on
Select OK to allow location access
Connect your desired Apple ID
Select Done
Using Tap to Pay on iPhone to collect payments
After turning on Tap to Pay on iPhone, your team will be able to use their iPhones to collect Workiz Pay payments right from the mobile app.
Open the job, estimate, or invoice you want to collect payment for
Follow the step that corresponds with what you opened in Step 1
Job: Select Pay
Estimate or invoice: Next to Payments, select the + icon
Select Tap to Pay on iPhone
Pass the device to the customer and select Done
Your customer will have the option to leave a tip and approve the payment before being presented with instructions on how to pay using Tap to Pay on iPhone.
