In this article, you will learn how to create new line items and services using the Workiz mobile app.

Items and services are reusable line items you create and store on your Workiz account to save yourself time when creating estimates or invoices. You can add useful information like the item's name, cost, and the price you want to charge.

You can quickly create new items and services using the mobile app.

How to create new items and services

  1. From the Workiz mobile app, select the job you want to add items to

  2. Select the Finance tab

  3. Next to Job items, select the + icon

  4. Select New

  5. Complete the Add item fields:

    1. (Optional) Item image: Select the + icon to upload an image for this item using your device’s camera or image library

      Tip: These images will be visible alongside line item details on the estimates and invoices you send to your clients.

    2. Item name: Enter a name for this item

    3. Quantity: Enter the typical quantity you use for a job

      Tip: If you typically use five units of this item on a job, enter five. This is designed to save you time so you don’t need to manually update the quantity each time you add it to a job, estimate, or invoice.

    4. Unit price: Enter the price you charge for this item

    5. Unit cost: Enter the price you pay for this item

    6. Type: Choose the type of item you are creating (e.g., product, service, other expense)

    7. (Optional) Description: Enter a brief description of the item

    8. Taxable: Determine whether this item is taxable and check the box accordingly

    9. Select Save

This item will be added to the job you are editing. It will also become available to be added to other jobs, estimates, and invoices across your account.
