In this article, you will learn how to generate a custom document and send it to your clients.

Your Workiz account will automatically come with three document templates that you can send to your clients: estimates, invoices, and work orders.

While these documents can be customized to fit your business’s needs, you can also use the custom documents add-on to create custom documents from scratch to be used for different purposes.

In order to generate a custom document from a job, you will first need to create a custom document template using the custom documents add-on. To learn more about creating a custom document template, please see this article.

IMPORTANT: Before creating a custom document in Workiz, please note that custom documents cannot replace the default estimates and invoices you send to clients in Workiz.

How to generate and send a custom document

  1. From the sidebar navigation, select Jobs

  2. Select the job you want to generate a custom document for

  3. Select the Files tab

  4. Next to Documents, select Add new

  5. Choose the custom document template you want to generate

  6. Review the document and select Send

  7. Complete the Send custom document fields and select Send Email or Send
