Updated over a week ago

In this article, you will learn how to create a custom automation rule in the Workiz Automation Center.

Workiz Automations is an add-on designed to send automatic notifications to your team and clients based on certain conditions you define. This feature is designed to save you time, prevent job cancellations, and help scale your business with less effort.

How to create a custom automation rule

Note: In order to create and use automation rules, you will first need to enable the Workiz Automations add-on from the Marketplace.

    1. Rule title: Enter a name for the automation rule you are creating

    2. This happens: Choose the event that should trigger this automation rule

    3. Someone: Choose the person that should receive the notification for this automation rule

    4. Reminder: Choose the type of notification that you want to send for this automation rule

      1. Customize the message as desired

    6. Field: Choose when this notification should be sent

    7. (Optional) Add condition: Create a condition to define the exact scenario requirements that should be applied to this automation rule (e.g., only if source = Google, only if client tag ≠ loyal customer, etc.)

    8. Delivery window: Define when this rule should be triggered (e.g., 9–5 p.m., 24/7, etc.)

    9. Select Add automation

Monitoring automation activity

Once you save your automation rule it will be listed under the My Automations tab at the top of the screen.

You can turn an automation off to prevent it from sending out notifications by turning the corresponding toggle switch to OFF (gray).

This tab will also allow you to see how many times your automation rule has been triggered.
