In this article, you will learn how to sync your Workiz schedule with your personal calendar.

With the Calendar sync integration, you can sync your Workiz schedule with calendars from Google, Apple, Outlook, and others — allowing you to sync your jobs, leads, and tasks over to the third-party apps you’re used to.

Note: Workiz only syncs in one direction: From Workiz to your third-party calendar. You will not be able to sync calendar events from your third-party calendar to Workiz.

Workiz calendar events (e.g., jobs, leads, and tasks) require more than just a name and location, making it difficult to properly sync third-party events into your Workiz schedule.

Enabling the Calendar sync add-on

  1. From the navigation bar, select the Marketplace

  2. Under Integrations, select Calendar sync

  3. Turn the toggle switch on to enable the add-on

Syncing to a third-party calendar

  1. From the navigation bar, select Settings > Settings

  2. Under Integrations, select Calendar sync

  3. Choose how you want to sync your Workiz schedule:

    1. Using the API (recommended)

    2. Exporting a snapshot of your schedule

After choosing your method, you will want to complete the syncing process on your third-party calendar. Below, we will cover how to sync with two of the most popular options: Google Calendar and the default Calendar app on iPhone.

Syncing to Google Calendar

Note: Workiz has no control over how frequently Google Calendar refreshes its data. This typically happens every 24 hours.

If you have immediate changes to your schedule that you would like to communicate to your team, we recommend doing so manually via text or email.

  1. Open your Google Calendar

  2. Next to Other calendars, select the + icon

  3. Choose the option that corresponds with the syncing option you chose earlier:

    1. If you copied the API URL from Workiz, select From URL

    2. If you exported the file from Workiz, select Import

  4. Follow the step that corresponds with your syncing preference:

    1. From URL: Paste the API URL you copied from Workiz

    2. Import: Upload the file you exported from Workiz

Syncing to iPhone Calendar app

Note: The Calendar app on iPhone will only support syncing using the API. You will not be able to use your exported file this way.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone

  2. Select Calendar > Accounts > Add Account

  3. Select Other > Add Subscribed Calendar

  4. Paste the API URL your copied from Workiz

  5. Select Next > Save
